A bracket (also bottom bracket or “BB”), is the part that goes inside the bottom of your frame. It is the part that is used to connect your crankset to the frame. The important aspects to look at when you’re searching for a new bottom bracket are size, threading and taper.
Sizes for bottom brackets range depending on the frame that you’ve got. Not sure what size you need? It is usually written in the manual you have with the frame. Another way to figure it out if you’re looking for a replacement is to take the current one out and the specifications should be written on it. If you still can’t find, send us a message and we’ll surely figure it out for you!
Threading can be either English or Italian, and that will also depend on the frame you are using.
The taper can come in different shapes and it is the part that the crank arms are mounted on. This will always depend on the crankset that you are using, so take a look at that when you’re trying to figure out what bottom bracket you need!
